Friends of Rising Sun Country Park are volunteers working together with the Council Park’s Team for the benefit of the park and its users. The Friends Group organise a variety of activities; helping with anything from planting bulbs and conservation tasks to organising litter-picks and tidy up days. Funds are raised by the group to support wildlife and nature in the park and to help keep it beautiful for everyone.
Friends’ meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at 12pm. News, events and activities are regularly shared with the community via an active Facebook Group.
Volunteering
Volunteers and Friends groups help our wardens to maintain our beautiful park. There are regular conservation and horticultural tasks to get involved with, plus the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills.
